RE:Wiccan Info?

Hi Krazygrrl,
I am a white witch so I will give you some of my views from that perspective.
Every Wiccan is Pagan but not every Pagan is Wiccan and the difference, in my opinion, is that Wiccans cast spells and do ritual but Pagans mainly do ritual, although there are a few exceptions.
To answer Hippy Babe: quote "Also when it comes to casting a circle, you may have heard to reverse
everything due to being in the Southern Hemisphere. The earth is one
place, wherever you are on it. Same moon. Same sun. The old ways work." I would agree with this for casting circle and I call East, South, West, North (clockwise) to cast.
I believe that everyone is entitled to make up their own mind about all of this and no-one is wrong.
When I do ritual to celebrate festivals I match the seasons with the festivals so they have more meaning. As an example: Ostara is a spring sabbat; so I celebrate it in our spring, which is September, but in UK it's celebrated in April. So the Wheel of the Year gets turned 6 months to match our Australian seasons.
I have been an apprentice Druid under a High Priestess as well as being an Initiated Witch and the two paths are very similar; both celebrate all the same sabbats and esbats, both cast circle, both cast spells, both are elemental based (ie; using the elements to call the quarters), both use the same tools for ritual and spell work. The list just goes on for similarities so I'll stop there...lol. My High Priestess used to say the difference is: Wiccan is more airy fairy than Druidism but I disagree with that as I found them no different at all...it's what you put into it that you get back from it. The only real difference in these paths is Wiccan stuff is everywhere, but Druids are a lot harder to find.
I used to be a member of the Rockhampton Wiccan Learning Circle but that has folded now and I don't really know of any other groups going sorry.
Anyway I hope this has helped you Krazygrrl.
Blessed Be, Silver.
